Crynodeb: | Clinacanthus nutans which belongs to the family of Acanthaceae is often used as herbal remedies in complementary and alternative medicine. This experiment was conducted to determine the total phenolic content and antioxidant activity of the different parts of C. nutans (stem, leaves and mixture of the stem and leaves) using different type of solvents which is methanol, 80% methanol and water on different extraction methods which is hot and cold extraction, Ultrasonic extraction, Microwave-assisted extraction andAutoclave extraction. The total phenolic content and antioxidant activity ware evaluated using the Follin-Ciocalteu method and 2,2- diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging activity assay respectively, and analyzed using UV/VIS Spectrophotometer. |
