Description
Summary:The goal of this research is to propose an automatic infant cry classification system that is capable in providing accurate classification within fast amount of computational time. In order to achieve this goal, the following objectives are required to be met to extract acoustic features in cry signals that can represent the characteristics of the cry sound to select relevant feature subsets from the extracted acoustic features to classify the selected features into different types of cries or pathologies to evaluate the proposed system in terms of classification accuracy and computational time. The accuracy is further confirmed using suitable statistical analysis.
