| Summary: | This project is focused on point-to-point network topology. Radio Frequency (RF) Module is a low cost point-to-point wireless system that is reliable. Cytron RF-TX- 315 transmitter and RF-RX-315 receiver are used as the hardware of the wireless system. Microchip PIC16F876-20 is selected as the microcontroller that handles the capacitive soil moisture detector. The enamelled copper wire is used to be the probe of the detector and is placed in parallel based on dielectric capacitance principle. The low cost wireless capacitive soil moisture detector was developed. The percentage of the soil moisture is displayed at the LCD was be sent to the computer using RF Module. Cytron UC00A Universal Serial Bus (USB) to Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART) converter is functions in translating the RF signal as an understandable input for the computer. The data is displayed and recorded using Hyper Terminal software application at the computer. This project achieves its objectives and some recommendations are listed. |
